Owned and operated by longtime friends Jennifer Felix and Maria Gillen, Hounds Town Farmingdale has grown from a neighborhood dog daycare into a thriving community for dogs and pet parents alike. 🐾 From Eight Dogs a Day to a Full Pack
Before they were co-owners, Jennifer worked at the original Farmingdale doggy daycare, while Maria came in regularly with her own dog. When the Hounds Town location was available, the pair teamed up to take the reins. Back then, they welcomed about eight dogs a day. Today, they’re caring for up to 80 Townies each day, proving that passion and pack instincts go a long way.
“We knew we could make something special here,” said Jennifer. “When Maria and I teamed up, we didn’t just want to run a business; we wanted to create a space where dogs could be themselves and where pet parents felt like part of a community.”
Over the past 10 years, the Farmingdale team has transformed the facility, adding more playrooms, outdoor space, upgraded flooring, and expanded boarding to better serve their growing pack. But their focus has always remained the same: providing safe, enriching, and inclusive playtime for every dog who walks through the doors.
